Our Story
The Beginning
From the day I was born, all I can remember is having a passion for animals - from Lion King to The Crocodile Hunter, everything I did was with animals. It was a connection I was given rather than cultivated.
The Dream
In the 7th grade I declared I'd be a veterinarian and help all the animals I could. So I later went to Rutgers and got my Pre-Veterinary Medicine degree in Animal Science.
The Shift
I did a summer internship at a big cat sanctuary that changed my perspective on how I could help animals outside the typical hospital setting. And that's how I had my idea for Ahimsa Wildlife Foundation - a sanctuary for animals in need without a voice to fight for them.
The Idea
With my Animal Science degree, I thought of still helping our dogs and cats - using any profits from there to support the non-profit. And I saw a clear need of help in our pet's nutrition, including their treats. So the idea came to me to create a new and better dog treat via Ahimsa Pets.
The Missing Piece
Although I was born in America, my cultural roots from India played a pivotal role in helping create Ahimsa Pets. Growing up with holistic practices allowed me to bring those concepts into the new dog treat I was creating. Ahimsa means to care & to love - we are a lifestyle idea for those who truly want to care and love for their dogs naturally!
The Treat
